01/11/13: I love this place! There’s a new Stud in town staking his claim in the gay frontier of the East End. Nomad is the cozy club we all crave: quiet, unassuming corner pub/club, stone silent outside, then a short hop upstairs, open the heavy door and— BLAMMO!
Hit by a wall of funky disco filled with the laughter of your mates and you know you’re home!
Hosted by senorita La Pequena, the upstairs disco/bar had a mixed crowd of gays, straights and in-betweens swaying til 5am to dreamy grooves by DJs Christopher Camplin and Francko Harris who welcomed the “change from the normal madness of the high-octane big clubs.”
La Pequena says: “This is my area! These are my neighbours. I want a place where I can have a good time.” One local straight neighbour, Hugo Bass, popped in to check it out and agreed. “It’s got great potential. Really cool vibes. I hope it keeps going.”
With its comfy downstairs lounge and summer roof terrace, STUD is destined to be the East End’s go-to late night upstairs disco. C’mon soldiers! Saddle up and spread the gay love, plant a rainbow flag firmly on another fab outpost…
Welcome to the neighbourhood, STUD!
