27/06/15: It was certainly no tall order getting down to Dalston Superstore to continue the Pride celebrations with the Tall Gay Agenda.
With equality fresh in mind, the focus was nudged towards those who stand a head above the rest. Lofty Dr. Sharon Husbands welcomed both the vertically gifted, the vertically challenged and everyone in-between. The bar was already abuzz with proud patrons freaking to tunes from the 80s and 90s spun by Dj Casio Jo whilst Greg Lowe had the basement bouncing with an eclectic combination of classic club beats tumbled in with swing; the consequence of which, was an interesting display of shapes thrown across the dance floor. Dance off? Yes, of course! But what would the Superstore be without some bar-top action? LA based performance artists Sister Mantos took to the bar with a psychedelic performance of Kate Bush’s ‘Wuthering Heights’ before hitting the decks in the basement, spinning disco and funk to bring the night to a close, as Jeffrey Hinton kept us dancing upstairs. It didn’t fall short of our tall expectations
