Thursgays

20/02/14: East Bloc have a new night in town on Thursdays, to bring you a party with a difference and some contemporary cabaret-laced razzmatazz. QX dipped our dainty, ladylike toe into Thursgays’ carnivalesque world last week and soon we were diving in head first without a backwards glance.

A snip of a £3 door charge (going towards the performers) and £2.50 vodka-mixer/beer drinks offer on the bar all night, attracted the glamorous, the exotic and the most enthrallingly dressed creatures of the East out to play and shake their things at this unique and really rather fabulous alternative performance/gay pop party.

Oozing Gloop introduced the Yeast London Cabaret Collective performance troupe upon the stage with an energetic and involving lip synch to a sassy sister’s old school rap number. He was followed by Lewis G Burton’s lesbian Matrix twins (trust me, you had to be there), and Rodent DeCay who used handheld strobe lights and intense dance music to create a darkly ethereal glimpse of a parallel world upon the stage. As the Gloop himself said, perhaps the show sometimes might be quick, but they are the only alternative cabaret show in London bringing you new performers every week!

After the performance was finished to roars of approval from the salivating crowd, the dance floor was cleared, the lasers began flashing and the party-loving beats poured back in from DJs Daisy Confused and Fitzgerald… East Bloc was rocking until 4am. You know where to head this Thursday!
