Trade

14/12/13: London unwrapped its seasonal clubbing goodies early as the very legendary Trade returned to Egg London for a marathon Christmas blowout at the block-rockin’ King’s Cross venue last weekend.

Starting midday Saturday and running for a whopping twelve hours, a bauble-busting line-up of massive-name DJs let loose across four rooms that had us recalling those hallowed Sunday mornings at Turnmills when this party monster was a weekly fixture on the scene.

Those days may be but an addled memory, but Trade still draws in a faithful crowd for its hotly anticipated events – and with a deck roster taking in the world-conquering likes of Pagano, Smokin’ Jo, Gonzalo Rivas, Stevie B, Guy Williams, Tom Stephan and Nick Tcherniak, there was plenty to get excited about.

It wasn’t the packed-out affair of the birthday event last month, but the club was still relentlessly serving the beats out to a baying crowd. Holiday highlights on the dancefloor included The Sharp Boys whipping up a jubilant storm of tinsel-tinged anthems in the Trade Lite room, ably assisted by vocal superstar Tonnic getting fresh on the mic.

Elsewhere, the throng went wacko for hard as nails beats downstairs and roof-raising house licks up top as the club fans soaked up enough of those Trade thrills to last ‘til next time!
