Trade

25/10/14: Trade, perhaps our city’s most legendary super-party. Innumerable stories recounted from the still disbelieving smiles of the many who frequented it then – nights soldidly devoted to the floor that, even after articulated, probably had to be seen.

The club brand whose name alone evokes House in its most intense hey-day, and first extended the widely accepted confines of weekend party hours both in and out of the scene to what could be considered standard today! Now Trade is more the extra-special occurrence than every weekend gig.

A birthday is of course as special as it gets; so last Saturday the party was in full force… From 2pm in the afternoon right through into Sunday day! The venue was The Egg in Kings Cross, a winding, multi-levelled maze of sliding doors, decking, bamboo dividers and four thrumming, flashing dancefloor arenas (Trade Modern, Trade Lite, Trade Disco and Trade Tuff).

The DJs and surprise guests ran WELL into double figures; amongst them; Filterheadz, Nick Tcherniak, Hannah Holland, Severino Panzetta, Pagano, Tom Stephan, TheMenWhoFell2Earth, Ben Carr and Pete Wardman…

Not a night for the faint hearted, but then was Trade ever?
