01/02/14: The choice of attire for Saturday’s XXL Cop was a difficult one – did we go in butch black, nightstick in hand with our eyes menacingly hidden by a peaked cap, or was it to be jail-bait bitch in an orange boiler suit?
Thankfully, it made no difference as there were plenty of others who had committed to their roles for the night and Pulse was awash with leather-shirted bearded daddies as well as jockstrapped ‘boys’.
DJ Christian M opened on the decks in the main room with his trademark big anthems before handing over to new weekly resident Andy Almighty who took us to 7th Heaven with some amazing vocal remixes that had even the butchest of bear throwing his hands in the air with gay abandon.
Andy has played a few guest spots at XXL recently but his weekly residency, combined with the gigantic lighting and laser rig, makes it the biggest, hottest weekly south London gay dance club and a firm favourite for us hardcore clubbers.
