10/10/15: This Saturday saw duo DJs Gary Dedman and Kevin Andrews – under their world-renown club night ‘Hoxton Whores’ hit London’s XXL.
With their discography reading like a who’s who of top international house labels – including releases on Ministry of Sound, Great Stuff, Toolroom and more – clubbers were treated to a night of top notch house music from two of the greats.
You gotta love XXL for a decent night out, this Saturday as usual was non-scene – one of the few clubs you can go to with one crowd, and leave with another (even if that ‘crowd’ is just you and a juicy bear heading for his Vauxhall flat at the end of the night).
Saturday night was one big party of hot, beefy, pumped men – with hairy chests glistening with fresh sweat. Oh and their admirers – six-packed yielding 25-40 year olds – vying for the attention of the bear crowd.
I’m neither of these types – but XXL loves me anyway – as their slogan goes “one club fits all”. After spending more money on plastic carrier bags than actual food shopping this week I was glad to be back at XXL – downing their value for money shots and having a few cheeky vodka sodas (skinny bitches) with new friends.
Sunday we had ‘breakfast in bed’ … the bear made me scrambled eggs on toast too.
