07/11/15: When Saturday night struck again last week, where better than XXL was there to go on the scene’s South?
The goliath venue has brought the typically sedate, low key Southwark neighbourhood to major prominence for the capital’s gay partygoers – with more returning revellers passing through it’s epic stone arches with every week.
Who can fault them? XXL has room to hold 7/10ths of London’s most eligible and enthusiastic men – and is one of the last great men-only spaces.
That leaves you with the sprawl of hours between 10pm and 7am to focus exclusively on the guys at hand…and, where last week was concerned, headliner Moto Blanco’s boombastic house setlist.
The second arena was, as ever, a steady roll of R’n’B and 70s smooth groves for us to unwind too. Is it any wonder we keep heading back?
