Boho cabaret duo Bourgeois & Maurice are taking over Wilton Music Hall

Bourgeois & Maurice

They’re back for Pride week!

After bursting out of the womb of the mundane into the glittering reality that is show business back in 2017, delinquent duo Bourgeois & Maurice return to the stage of Wilton’s Music Hall. The historical Whitechapel venue is known for keeping the pulse of the East End variety show beating, but little can prepare its timbers for the bombasity bound for its stage.

Having globe-trotted their way to international renown they’re back in their spiritual home with a new roster of songs, alongside a veritable explosion of extraterrestrial couture. Anna Wintour found rotting. Spit-roasting satire with the iron rod of avant-garde couture, their performances linger in the mind like the memory of an uncomfortable Uber-pool ride. Their chaos always serves up calamity with a healthy dollop of caviar pearls. This time around they bring with them a troupe of broken toys, hell-bent on putting the ‘riot’ into ‘varioty’. That’s how you spell it, right?

Joining them will be the twelve dancing toes of post-pop prodigy Lucy McCormick, comedian, singer and breather Jayde Adams, cabaret royalty Her Highness’ hiney Diane Chorley, starkly-lit songstress Ginger Johnson and comedy heart-throb Mawaan Rizwan. It’s set to be a show somewhere between a ‘20s Weimar cabaret and last orders at Torture Garden. Strap yourself in and buckle your sphincter, it’s going to be a bumpy night.

Bourgeois & Maurice are at Wilton Music Hall, 1 Graces Ally, Whitechapel E1 8JB from 2nd to 6th of July, 7:45pm. Tickets available at Wiltons.org.uk
