Gorgeous Hampstead Heath hideaway Kenwood House has been the site of many events in the cultural zeitgeist – it was where Julia Roberts flounced around filming a period drama in Notting Hill. It was where Emma Thompson flounced around in a bonnet in Sense & Sensibility. And now, there’s going to be even MORE fabulous flouncing around at the first ever Pride event held in its grounds.
Party On The Heath, a one-off celebration in association with Pride in London, and as part of the Heritage Live Concert Series, is bursting into the property’s serene ground this June.
The evening event will feature a brand new show from britpop sensation Sophie Ellis-Bextor and drag collective Sink The Pink. Plus a DJ set from high-heeled and high-haired jetsetter Jodie Harsh and concerts from the London Gay Men’s Chorus and the London Big Gay Band.
Last but not least, a special 40th anniversary show from THE VILLAGE PEOPLE, with original lead singer Victor Willis.
Proceeds from the events will go to the LGBT Foundation and MindOut, a mental health charity for the LGBT+ community.
‘We at Pride in London are delighted to be partnering with Party on the Heath,” says Pride in London’s Director Of Events, Simon Jones “particularly as the event will be making donations to Mind Out and LGBT Foundation. Featuring amazing performers, this event promises to be one of the best go to events for the summer.”
Party On The Heath is on Thursday, 18th June at Kenwood House, Hampstead Lane, NW3 7JR. For pre-sale tickets (released on Thursday 20th February) head here.
