Queer Open Mic recently moved from its Camden venue to Kennington’s Cock Tavern. Working with the new venue, Open Mic look forward to offering everyone a fun and welcoming experience.

“Our event encourages members of the queer community to express their creativity and showcase their bold, flamboyant, vulnerable, and authentic queerness to the world.”

Josh Leuner

Josh Leuner is a queer musician. He was motivated to find a supportive and friendly event where he could perform. He was surprised that there wasn’t a regular event that catered specifically to this. Being on stage can be nerve-wracking, especially for queer artists, so Josh felt there was a real need to create a safe and inclusive environment for us to share our talents.

Sean O’Callaghan told QX that partnering with the Cock Tavern was a “dream come true”.

“Queer Open Mic is a fun, welcoming space where our community can come together, share our talents, and make new connections.”

In addition to new performers each month, they feature regular musicians such as Blake Rave, Skye Wild, and Siôn Owen, as well as drag artist Queer As An Aro, poet Emmanuel Carriere, and many others!
