Queer Jazz is curated by Tina Edwards and Arowah, the series features an exciting lineup of innovative LGBTQI+ artists each month at The Vortex Jazz Club, with support from Arts Council England.
Tickets are offered on a flexible pricing basis—please select the tier that best suits your circumstances. Queer Jazz encourage as many people as possible to join them for the performances, and if you can, they appreciate your support in opting for the higher ticket options. More affordable tickets will be limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Peng Femme Jam
The Peng Femme Jam is a live music jam session designed for all fabulous individuals, focusing on uplifting and supporting femme talent. Created in response to the male-dominated jam scene in London, the Peng Femme Jam (PFJ) aims to foster an inclusive and empowering environment for women, queer people, and trans musicians from underrepresented backgrounds. Here, we can come together to develop our musical skills, nurture our creativity, and thrive as independent artists.
SOlar
SOlar is an up-and-coming, eclectic queer artist based in East London. As a collaborative neo-soul/fusion musician, she draws inspiration from legends like Erykah Badu and De La Soul. Her songwriting resonates on both personal and relatable levels, infused with a sense of playfulness in her lyrics and harmonies. Currently working on her EP, she and her talented band bring intricate arrangements, exciting genre fusions, and harmonised backing vocals to the stage.

The Vortex Jazz Club
The Vortex is one of the UK’s premier jazz venues, hosting nearly 400 performances each year in an intimate setting. In 2013, it won the Live Jazz Award at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards. Located in Dalston, North London, the Vortex is a volunteer-led jazz club and has been recognized as one of the top 150 jazz venues in the world by the prestigious Downbeat magazine.
