Little Squirt is a musical cabaret with Darby James about sperm donation. The show runs at Underbelly Boulevard Soho on 5 September 2025. It is part of Fringe Fix, a curated selection of shows from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Darby begins with a Facebook ad seeking sperm donors, and then proceeds through a series of genetic questionnaires. Darby finds himself lost in a moral dilemma. As Darby sits in remote medical waiting rooms, his mind races with existential questions about the absurdities of procreation and the journey to parenthood as a gay man. He grapples with the profound question of whether we should have children at all.

Set sail for an unforgettable experience with twelve original songs that combine hilarious and heartfelt sea shanties. The songs focus on themes of pride, parenthood, and overpopulation. Whether you’re a returning guest of this five-star feel-good cabaret or embarking on your first journey with this rising star from Australia, drop anchor and prepare for an exciting voyage!
Little Squirt is written and performed by Darby James. Darby is a storyteller and songwriter born in Manchester, UK, raised in Canberra and based in Melbourne, Australia. Direction and dramaturgy are by Casey Gould, and the set and costume design are by Betty Auhl.
