After lighting up stages in Paris and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, gay Australian comedian Joshua Hauville brings his outrageously camp, high-energy solo comedy show to London for one night only.

In Joshy in Paris, cabaret meets stand-up in a chaotic, heartfelt, and unapologetically queer tale of life as an Aussie creative trying to “make it” in the piss-ridden streets of Paris.

From battling French wankers to existential erections in a pilates class, Joshua spins comedy gold out of culture clashes, heartbreaks, and his misguided attempts at Parisian stardom.

Expect nasty punchlines, dazzling dance numbers and clowny stripping to a soundtrack that’ll get every Millennial and Gen Z bopping in their seats.

Joshy took time out from his manic schedule to bring us up to date on his tour. Don’t forget, he comes to London for one night only on the 30th of September.

“Hi QX. Thanks for giving me the chance to talk about the tour.

“Touring my solo show in Australia and Europe has been a real whirlwind. I have been most touched by the people I’ve been able to meet through doing it. Every night, I am surprised by people who have found their way to my camp extravaganza of a show.

“It makes all the hard work worth it to find people who are so receptive to your art and your story, and seeing strangers leave with big grins on their faces. Touring overseas has taught me we aren’t all that different. Regardless of nationality, most people just want a pint of beer, a good laugh, and to let loose.

“I have also learned that scraping confetti off a stage is an arduous task. I tend to absolutely fucking destroy each stage I perform on with debris, props and confetti. It’s like the aftermath of a gay grenade.

“Performing stand-up in Paris and Europe in English comedy nights can be a test of strength at times, with language barriers and cultural clashes. However, I have been pleasantly surprised with the open-minded and exciting crowds I have been attracting to the show. It has made the experience all the more delectable.”

Tickets: £10

Joshy in Paris is on Tuesday 30 September 2025, 7 pm, at The Queer Comedy Club, 9 Hewson Way, London SE17 1JS, United Kingdom
