Following its critically acclaimed theatrical release, the comedy-drama from Manchester-based creators Lloyd Eyre-Morgan and Neil Ely will be available on streaming platforms starting May 18, 2026.
The story follows Benji as he navigates the ups and downs of relationships with men while learning to truly love himself. We begin at the very end, where Benji is being dumped by Jake after “an intense two years of secret monthly getaways to Amsterdam.”
As the creators of the working-class LGBTQ+ collective, Departures captures the frenetic energy reminiscent of Trainspotting and Human Traffic. Lloyd Eyre-Morgan stars in the film, alongside a talented cast that includes David Tag (Hollyoaks), Tyler Conti (Hollyoaks, The Gentlemen), Liam Boyle (TV’s Robin Hood, Land Girls), Kimberly Hart-Simpson (Coronation Street), Ali Afzal (Unicorns), and Lorraine Stanley (EastEnders).
“Honest, raw, tough, wildly funny and powerfully heartfelt…”

Eyre-Morgan’s television credits include EastEnders, Waterloo Road, and the short film Closets, while Ely has directed Mirrors and recently completed the feature Chatlines. The two have collaborated on several projects, including co-directing the highly acclaimed short film S.A.M.
