Central Station

08/02/14: Since 1992 this LGBT+ venue has been a pioneer on the scene, with loads of adventures through its rich 22 year history.

And tonight was no exception as the owners, Duncan and Martin, brought back the very same drag queen that opened Central Station those all years ago with Dave Lynn hosting and performing, plus Jason Prince working that DJ booth as only he can.

All the patrons were there for a busy night, I could just about squeeze through them all without being touched up … too much! I think there were as many balloons as there were people and that is saying something as the ceiling and fixtures were covered in them: balloons, that is!

Dave Lynn reminisced about his first time at Central Station for the opening and said how nervous he was, even though he had been performing for 18 years, at the time. However, 22 years later, he stormed on and started by trying to turn the new ‘straight’ manager to the pink side.

It was a barrel of laughs all round and may they have many, many more!
