On the 19th July 2021 we will see a loosening of social distancing rules and we will at last be able to enjoy nightclubs once again. This is something many of us have been looking forward to.
Unfortunately, this loosening of the rules has coincided with a big rise in Covid infections, mostly among a younger age group who have not had their double dose vaccination. This is also the group that will, understandably, most enjoy the new freedom.
It’s been a very tough year, but with no regulation from the Government, venues have had to decide upon their own rules.
Dalston Superstore, The Glory, VFD and The Karaoke Hole, have clearly come to the conclusion that just opening the doors and hoping for the best isn’t in the best interests of either their customers or staff. So they’ve gotten together and decided on a policy that best protects everyone concerned and keeps their venues open. Therefor, they are updating their control measures to include the following:
- Covid passport check (via NHS App), or proof of negative test within the last 48 hors
- Temperature checks at the door
- Maximun ventilation
- Reduced Capacity
- Staff wearing face coverings
These venues (and QX) greatly encourage everyone who is going to clubs and bars to test regularly. We also encourage you to get vaccinated.
QX would like to see all venues take this approach and we expect some of them to be making announcements in the coming days.
As a customer, please be sensible and think twice before you go to any clubs or bars if you haven’t been tested or vaccinated. It’s important to stay at home if you either test positive, or have any symptoms. If you’ve come in to contact with someone who has Covid you will also need to self isolate.
QX will be posting what actions venues are taking to protect their customers over the coming days, as this will not only help keep us all safe but may also affect your ability to gain entry to a venue if you don’t have the corresponding evidence.
