G-A-Y – WANTED

05/11/11: How many celebs can G-A-Y cram onto a stage in one night?

From the surprise appearance of Kelly Rowland (sure to be this year’s TV personality of the year) where the crowd went absolutely bananas, to the second surprise appearance of X Factor finalist Craig Colton who was celebrating his 23rd birthday complete with traditional birthday cake, it was a B-I-G night at G-A-Y.

And we haven’t even got to the singing yet! Last week’s contestant to leave the X Factor, Sophie Habbibis took the roof off with her turn to grace the G-A-Y stage.

Then – as if that wasn’t enough! – it was a case of The Wanted by name and very much by nature, as pop’s hottest took the mics.

Performing hits like ‘All Time Low’, ‘Like It Like That’ (oh boy, did we), the comic relief track ‘Forever’ and their latest single ‘War Zone’ – an edgy pop ditty perfectly describing the boys on the packed floor’s general feeling as a few enthusiastic twinks battled to the front line – the fab five gave it their all.

The electric atmosphere intensified for the performance of ‘Lightning’, where the boys strutted and swooped above us, flashing those wily smiles and bedroom eyes. When it comes to sending in the stars for mandatory gay service – G-A-Y doesn’t disappoint. That must be why it stands for ‘God, again yeah?!’
