13/08/11: If there’s anywhere we’d expect to see a round up of the week’s news performed through the medium of dance (nudity, lycra and belly dancing) it’s Happy Shopper. From the camp that bring us Sink The Pink, Happy Shopper at Dalston Superstore is their equivalent of a spangly diffusion range for Debenhams. Saturday saw the hottest East End fashion, fun and frisky folks coming together wearing ‘we heart Dalston’ badges and uniting after the events of the previous week.
Hot Fuss lip-synched the words of the now famous Hackney African woman, whilst wearing the finest looting-chic attire, before stripping off to reveal a celebratory Turkish belly dancers costume. Chants of ‘baklavas not balaclavas’ were heard as Sink The Pinks Amy handed out baklava to the crowds.
The local Turkish shop wouldn’t let Amy pay for the baklava after reading her ‘We Heart The Sexy Turks Of Dalston’ badge! The vibe was positive, hot, sweaty and sexy. Music came from Sink The Pink, Prince Nelly, Attack Attack Attack and Larry Tee.
Prancing on the bar-top there was naughty, nudie anarchy from Hot Fuss, a parade of the sexiest boys and girls in London and a selection of Sink The Pink dance routines.
By the end of the night there was crowd surfing, frantic high-kick mayhem on the dance floor and a bar lined with gyrating hot hunks and trannies! Happy Shopper is bi-monthly at Dalston Superstore, the next Sink The Pink is August 26th at Bethnal Green Working Mens Club; Sink The Pink dance classes are held every Tuesday also at the Working Mens Club 7-9pm (with a dance based film for afters!)
