Savage

04/03/2016: The East End has become well known as a place where irony readily flourishes, and what can be more ironic than a queer club taking over a temple of heterosex such as a strip club?

For the past year, every Saturday, Savage has been doing just that at Metropolis. The night has been so successful that they are now adding Friday night to the bill of fares.

As the city boys were safely tucked at home in their Essex mansions and the girls took a, no doubt welcome, night off, a colourful bevvy of beautiful butterflies emerged from the freezing streets and, perhaps stirred by all the pent up sexual energy of the place’s three levels, adroitly egged on by DJs Luke Howard and Smoking Jo, proceeded to methodically raise the roof.

With fabulous lights and a most nimble group of performers, this electrifying night is a feast for the eyes as well as the ears. If you fancy (safely) seeing the inside of a strip club, giving pole dancing a cheeky try, or simply indulge in a spot of queer boogie, Savage is most definitely your place.
