23/08/15: Sunday was the Royal Vauxhall Tavern’s Sunday Social – a weekly afternoon of top cabaret and world-class DJs, over a 10-hour session at “the friendliest gay venue in town” – where the gorgeous crowd were welcomed to “booze, cruise, cabaret and dance”.
It’s a place to “meet mates and where you might make a few new ones” – and meet some new ‘mates’ I did. The afternoon kicked off at 3pm with DJ Simon Le Vans playing current chart and house tunes.
As I walked in, I was greeted by a remix of Whitney’s ‘It’s Not Right’ and billows of smoke – peppered with beams of disco lights. Once the fog cleared the men began to appear – pecs, bulging arms, athletic legs and tight little bums – who needs a Sunday roast? Especially when there’s the chance to getting your very own roasting in the loos.
A fabulous afternoon – ending at 1am. Ensuring the weekend finished on a fantastic high – and the week began with a hangover and flashbacks of kissing handsome strangers (so worth it though).
