TRADE 21 – A JOURNEY TO THE DARK

29/10/11: 5, 10, 15, 20… 21. From Turnmills to Pulse… The venue may change but one thing stays the same, the appreciation and the love for Trade.

The original king of London’s club scene returned this weekend to show up any imitators and shame any under-estimators. I’ve experienced a few tasters of the Trade brand but nothing compares to the undiluted, unrestrained, no holds barred session of fluorescent pop art artwork (courtesy of Trademark), three-roomed, high ceiling, sexy dancers, hot costumes, banging house tunes experience in its entirety, housed by new superclub Pulse.

As we journeyed to the dark side for one night only, pulling in the elite of Trade DJs, they featured the Sharp Boys, Nick Tcherniak, Smokin Jo, Pagano, Steve Thomas, Gonzalo, Nik Denton and Berlin superstar Monika Kruse (and tonnes more!) giving this clubbing royal a birthday befitting a king!

We were treated to the heavy sounds of hard house bursting out the speakers and vibrating through our bodies to the uplifting beats in the Trade Lite room, complete with PA from Tonnic backed by Fat Tony, all giving the clubbers a well-earned slice of the Trade cake.

Trade 21st Birthday: ‘Often copied, never equalled’. Damn right!
