21/07/12: London stepped back in time to the decade of Reagan, robotic dancing, and roller-disco as Pulse got pumping for a storming XXL ‘I € The 80s’ bash last weekend.
Featuring all the beefed-up shenanigans we know and love, but with a thrillsome ‘Alexis-bitch-slap-Krystle-in-the-pool’ retro twist, a neon-surfing night of anthems and antics saw a crowd of hunks getting down for an epoch-saluting party that had the guys rampaging right through ‘til the sunrise.
Man-sized delights on the main floor saw top DJ dude, XXL resident Christian M, spinning a dizzying array of chart-friendly dance beats and nostalgic classics that had the place erupting in a flurry of fur.
Next door, and Joe Egg put his near encyclopaedic knowledge of pop music to good use with a dazzling 80s set, getting us body-popping to a non-stop soundtrack taking in everything from Chaka Khan to Club Tropicana.
Meanwhile, with the capital finally getting another instalment of this year’s summer, the cavorting capers continued amidst the splendour of the indoor garden terrace, with a throng of happy homos demonstrating, yet again, why XXL is one of the most popular weekly fixtures in town.
XXL is back at Pulse this Saturday as the guys step up to the line for an all-action ‘XXL Olympic Sportswear Party’!
