Sensuously shot as a fly-on-the-wall documentary, this subtle gay German drama is like a teen Brokeback Mountain as 17-year-old farming interns Marco and Jakob are terrified to admit that they’ve got the hots for each other.
Their relationship develops without them really noticing, until they run off for a dirty weekend in Berlin together. Intriguingly, these two teens are the only actors in the film; everyone else is playing themselves.
So besides following the boys’ intimate and moving story, we also learn rather a lot about raising cows and growing carrots. (TLA). 8/10
