MOLLY MOGGS

30/10/11: Off I tottered on Sunday afternoon, clutching my poor, weary head, after a weekend of ‘socialising’, in search of something glam to indulge myself in. And where better than a bar I know all too well, Molly Moggs, having worked there as a fresh faced young chicken for many years… [cough, cough]

Mollys is refreshingly unique, nestling at the end of Old Compton Street, small but perfectly formed and what it lacks in size it certainly makes up for in charm and character.

Featuring a mix of top notch cabaret all week long, quirky and fabulous regulars, with a steady stream of eye candy thrown in, it all makes this fabulous old boozer a perfect place to kick your heels off and unwind right in the heart of the West End.
I arrived just as Dame Julie Paid was getting her Sunday afternoon dragathon underway, looking as spectacular as ever in a long red sequin gown. Dame Julie glided her way effortlessly through a hilarious set, with a sprinkling of just about every genre of music and, of course, injecting plenty of dramatic musical theatre numbers to keep the local West End Wendys in fine voice.

After a sherry, or eight, and a good old sing-a-long, that weary head of mine was but a distant memory… Just the perfect antidote
