08/05/12: I think everyone that came down to Shadow Lounge would agree that the ‘Scallavet meets Balearic’ launch party was the perfect way to get us in the seasonal spirit.
Trotting into the Shadow Lounge, I found the sprinklings of exotic décor and white tenting on the ceilings gave an impression of Ibiza’s Blue Marlin. It might have been chucking it down outside on that cold and gloomy Tuesday night but inside the club you could have been forgiven for thinking you were at a luxurious beach club after-hours – and those are the best kind of lock-in.
The music was everything that one would expect from a Balearic night. DJs Amir Groove, Gustavo Co and James Vaux provided that distinctive hedonistic island sound, and dancers werqed the podium. I came across a hot sailor.
Literally. One could say this party was like a tantalising taster of that feeling you get from Ibiza nights out. Roll on summer 2012 and also the next installment of this soiree.
