Shower Chair is an intimate and personal story that explores the experience of being queer at different stages of life. The writer and performer, Ben Fallaci, skillfully intertwines his coming out journey with his path from rock bottom to recovery and self-care.
It’s happened before and it will happen again—a gay man gets naked in Soho.
Shower Chair is an hour-long comedic play about making mistakes, growing up, and learning how to prevent life from spiralling out of control. Accompany Ben Fallaci as he cleanses himself, both physically and metaphorically. Through washing away his mess and becoming vulnerable, Ben takes his audience on a journey from rock bottom to recovery and self-care.
Where else to come clean but in the shower?
This one-man play, written, performed, directed, and produced by queer theatre talents, takes the audience on a voyage of self-discovery, as Ben lays bare struggles with shame, fear, and loneliness. Ultimately, he emerges physically and metaphorically clean.
Shower Chair pulls back the curtain to reveal the impossibility of concealing our true selves and underscores the significance of living authentically.
For two nights only catch Shower Chair, ahead of its Edinburgh Fringe run.
