05/12/15: This weekend saw the glistening jewel in Soho’s crown celebrate its 20th Birthday!
That means KU Bar is the same age as Kendall Jenner! And Troye Sivan! Both of whom I’ve woken up next to in a Travelodge. You wouldn’t think Kendall would like Travelodges, but she does, trust me. The mirrors have really good lighting for selfies.
Anyway KU’s birthday celebrations were a glittering affair, much more glittering than Travelodge. I got there just in time for the raffle, with KU’s Colgate-smiled manager Nieko leaping nimbly up onto the bar and proceeding to dole out bottles of champers and posh hampers. Hey that rhymed! Kapow! Now sit down and shut up because I need to say something. The KU Bar staff have a new uniform.
That is definitely the most important news in the world. They’re distractingly hot. Sort of like sportswear chic meets space age Tron latex. Anyway, I approve. Ten points to Gryffindor. After the raffle, Kylie blasted back over the speakers and the party kicked OFF.
I ended up with several vodka diet cokes at once. There aren’t many things I can have several of at once. But vodka diet cokes is one of ‘em!
After a dance and a chat with several handsome gentlemen, I stumbled through Leicester Square and onto the tube, Kylie still ringing in my ears. Onwards and upwards. Thanks KU, happy birthday!
