WE LOVE 2 DANCE

Spain’s biggest club brand is back for a monstrous party as WE Party London celebrates its 2nd birthday. Promotions Manager Verity Mayes reveals all…

WE Party London is already two years young! What have been the highlights of the last two years?

The most exciting thing was bringing something new to London, a never-before-seen brand with a completely different attitude and style, and watch it become such a phenomenon, and THE party of the city. Every WE Party is a delight to work on, it has become the destination event of any Pride or Bank Holiday, with some truly inventive themes to bring to life, fusing fun, experience and sound in the sexy way that only WE can.

The events have become the stuff of legend, I bet you remember WE Attacks, Broadway, Heroes, Paparazzi, Candy, or your WE Disco, Safari and Pharoah events!

The costumes and production are stunning. Who comes up with the concepts, and how much planning goes into each event?

The themes come from the original WE Party in Spain, and they are truly unique – who else would create a life size hotdog underwear for a costume or put a phone box on stage? We then bring it together with the best of London to become a supersized kitsch spectacle like no other.

There is a whole team involved including Victor and Mauricio from Spain HQ, our own Mauricio Ortiz, JJ Clark and Ben Kaye as well as us at Orange HQ, and a crew of technicians flown in from Spain each time, all striving to create that special WE Party experience that clubbers look forward to so much.

What can we look forward to on the birthday?

Well, apart from wall-to-wall hotness, outrageous stage shows from our gorgeous gogo team in original WE Madrid couture, we have music from undeniably some of the most talented DJs in London – Steve Pitron, D’Johnny and Paul Heron – the incredible Carlos Gallardo flying in to represent the Spanish sound.

The city’s coolest club, Room Service, hosts the Lounge. We also have a very special PA from Soraya Naolin, who absolutely rocked the house last time she graced our stage!

There’s a New Year’s Day WE planned, too…

WE New Year’s Day is the stuff of legend. What better way to kick start a new year than under the super disco lights of WE, and this time we invite you to dance to our theme ‘Vogue’. Fierceness, fashion, fury, WE has got it all!

Have you got what it takes to shake what ya momma gave you against our WE dance stars at the countries ultimate gay party? Get ready for the UK to get NY’d, and it’s all part of our New Years Day Golden Ticket, too. Check out www.orangenation.co.uk to get one at just £30 now!

WE PARTY 3X3

• STEVE PITRON

• SE:SA feat Erin – ‘In My Life’ (Taito Tikaro 2012 Remix)
The original was one of my favourite Beyond anthems from the old Colosseum days. This comes back round again with a whole load of new remixes including this huge Taito Tikaro remix which will lift the roof at WE without a doubt.

• Erick Morillo & Konshens feat. Sympho Nympho – ‘Murder The Dancefloor’ (Tribal Mix)
rick Morillo back on form at the moment – and this driving tribal workout is perfect for WE.

• Amed – ‘Sky and Sun’ (Rafha Madrid remix)
Café Ole resident DJ Rafha’s excellent cheeky booty of the Paul & Fritz Kalkbrenner classic ‘Sky And Sand’. Massive tune from Ibiza this summer.

• PAUL HERON

• Martinez Brothers – ‘H 2 da izzo’
I love this track, simple but effective big room house! It has a really deep sexy rolling baseline! Perfect for me @ WE!

• Chris Lum – ‘Big Tool’ (ACs Express Mix)
Such a funky baseline blended with big room percussion and a classic vocal sample!

• Totally Extinct Dinosaurs – ‘Your Love’ (Mark Knight Mix)
One of my favorite tracks on their album. Mark has done a great job turning it into a big room track.

• D’JOHNNY

• Michael Gray, Danism, Rae – ‘You Will Remember’ (D’Johnny Private Bootleg)
I made this mash-up for the first WE Party London as I felt that it was hard to find some quality, vocal pumping big room tracks. I still play this at every WE Party and it seems to do the trick every time!

• Alberto Moreno – ‘Release Yourself’ (Original Mix)
Works perfect as a crossover track from warming-up to peak time, not too much and always enough to get the floor going ready to step things up to the next level.

• DjM feat. Rachel Armenta & Balage – ‘Besame Mucho’ (Club Mix)
Anyone that’s got a little knowledge about Spanish pop music will know this. It certainly raised a few surprised heads at the last WE Party. I’m really looking forward to try out and drop my own edit of this next week.
