Summer Rites: Out On The Dock

Summer Rites is going to be one of the hugest gay parties of the summer with London’s unique and historic venue Tobacco Dock fully taken over for the first time ever to present you with a LGBT festival. Ten huge club arenas will feature HMS Sink the Pink, the Cabaret Stage, Trannyshack, Hello Sailor VIP!, Girls Arena, The Bear Brig, R&B Terrace, East Starboard, the East Bloc Room and also feature Douchebag plus Exilio! This week, we’re taking a butchers through the peep hole at the Indie and R’n’B rooms…

Indie Room & R’n’B Terrace

DouchebagLaurence Del Rey and The Wolf
Douchebag has been keeping alt-east London messy for two years. Home of Mad Moomba, Fag Guitar and Twisted Synth. DJs Laurence Del Rey and the Wolf are responsible for this outrage.

 Current Top Five Tracks

1) Sleigh Bells – ‘Bitter Rival’
Like running into an American football team’s locker room, with a megaphone.

2) MIA – ‘YALA’
Some funny rhymes here to sing along with. Alarms go off when it enters the dancefloor.

3) Diplo – ‘Boy Oh Boy’
“Boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, is it worth it?” YES!

4) Haim – ‘Forever’ (The Knocks Remix)
I always imagine the bassist’s gurning face over this hyper-galatic dance beast.

5) London Grammar – ‘Hey Now’ (MITS Edit)
I hate London Grammar but this does wonders at Douchebag.

Bootylicious: DJ Chillz
I love DJing and partying on the LGBT scene because it’s full of good vibes, people and music. Bootylicious has always been the party to go to for all that, since the first event started years ago, and it will continue to be an iconic LGBT party across the UK.

Current Top Five Tracks

1) Duke Dumont – ‘I Got You
It has a summer feel that gets everyone in the party mood!

2) Chris Brown – ‘Loyal’
Very catchy, and everyone can dance to it.

3) Sam Smith – ‘Stay With Me’
It’s a people’s choice – I’m always getting a request for this on my radio show.

4) Fuse ODG and Sean Paul – ‘Dangerous Love’
Afro beats is hot right now, and this is the hottest track, with a Caribbean twist!

5) Rita Ora – ‘I Will Never Let You Down’
She has come back with another banger for the dance floor.

• Summer Rites: Out on the Dock is on Saturday 26th July from midday-11pm at the Tobacco Dock, 50 Porters Walk, E1W 2SF.
