30/04/15: It is nice to see the RVT joining the ranks of amazing venues across the country hosting Drag Idol, bringing a fresh diversity to the competition that is now in it’s eleventh year.
Five contestants camped it up and battled it out in the RVT’s first heat of the season, with ten minutes on stage each, in front of an esteemed panel of judges. Including Dave Cross, star of the scene Vanity Von Glow (in boy form, Hi Thom!), RVT mother Jason and from the World of Wotever the neutrally fabulous Ingo. From lip-syncing to punters sucking on chocolate cocks, there was a grand old mix amongst the gaggle of gays, performing their arses off to get through to the next stage of Drag Idol. In the end though, there can be only one. In this particular heat, the victress was the cockney countess Vinegar Stroke who, in the words of our judges, ‘could go all the way!’ Stay tuned to QX for all the Idol gossip, until next time.
