Oh blimey, it’s the summer already! Coach loads of festivals, sweaty raves, afternoon soirees, cocktail parties…oh London is so la-di-dah innit! But seriously look at what’s happening this week!
Starting off with an evening soiree at Naked Boys Reading NBR X HH: Making Gay History on Thursday 30th May from 7pm. Join the Naked Boys Reading who get the feels for the Instagram project Historical Homos, who are brother & sister duo Sebastian and Lucy. They’re curating this event at the Miranda Bar at the Ace Hotel. Raising all sorts of questions, some they have the answers to, some they don’t have a clue about, this romp through queer history will no doubt be enlightening! instagram.com/historical.homos.
We absolutely adore the really wonderful FANCY SHEWS aka Georgie Bee who hosts The Karaoke Hole from 9pm till 3am on Friday 31st. Fancy Shews presents Drrty Anthems at the K Hole…expect hilarity all night long!!!
Oh this night! Carpet Burn at the Eagle is back on Friday 31st May, 9-4am. I love the Eagle’s horseshoe bar and the fact you can cruise while you’re having a drink, then you can even go outside and have a free snack off the BBQ! Then obviously get on the small but perfectly formed dance floor for a little shuffle to HiFi Sean and Jonjo Jury who join forces tonight for a dance off of dancefloor classics all night long!
I love a book launch me or in this case a gathering for the Queer Anthology series and A Queer Anthology of Sickness by collated by artist Richard Porter. It’s at Tenderbooks, Cecil Court from 6pm – 8pm on Saturday 1st June. Grab a copy!
This Saturday, pay a visit to Mariah & Friends: Juicy June on 1st June at the Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club. From 9pm till 2am all our fave beach babes will be running around high-kicking and cavorting – they are Crystal Beth, Cheryl Hole, Grace Shush, Margo Marshal, Rodent, Le Strange and Drastik Measures. Right, okay everyone. As I mentioned it’s festival season so here’s one… Mighty Hoopla is on Saturday 8th June over in Brockwell Park, 12 midday till 10pm. It’s all going on, with Chaka Khan heading the bill and an array of super camp goings on!!! Main stage hosted by Sink The Pink.
