Rupert Street has been one of the longest serving gay bars in Soho to give both a quality environment and lively, edgy weekend beats in its winning ambience.
Customers flock here and come back because it’s a venue that engenders not only loyalty to its atmosphere but damn good service by a well-oiled, lean, mean machine of sexy bar boys as well. Given that the ‘Street has been entertaining the gay masses of Soho for so long now, it’s inevitable that a bit of wear and tear can happen around the edges, so you may have noticed that from the 8th to the 17th July they’ve been closed to the public for an entire refurbishment and facelift.
But, as of Thursday 18th July, Rupert Street triumphantly swings open its doors again and we spoke to manager Karl Nixon to find out what he’s got up his sleeve for the big reopening weekend…
We hear Rupert Street is being refurbished! What’s the plan exactly?
We are starting from the bottom and working our way to the top! Our main priority was sorting our toilets out followed by updating and modernising the decor of the bar.
Will there be a big relaunch party? What can customers expect?
Of course! If I was to think of my favourite DJ line up of all time it would have to be the Freemasons, and we have them on Friday 19th in the night for a two hour DJ set with Alessandro!
Any summer drinks deals coming up?
We have reviewed our happy hour and have bought it back by one hour to 4pm to include all Champagne and introducing a 2 for £10 cocktail offer

It may seem a little selfish, but I would love a private session with these guys, their music is amazing, guaranteed to get anyone dancing; they’ll be spinning from 10:30pm.
