Re-opening a bar in the era of Covid-19 is no easy feat. QX asked The RVT what they were doing from the 4th July. We received a very pragmatic response:

Royal Vauxhall Tavern will be Covid-19 compliant. Following the Government announcement, we now know that unfortunately for the immediate future we cannot put on any live entertainment or DJs, this is obviously a blow to a venue that is an award-winning cabaret space and we are disappointed that we can’t welcome back and support our many performers and promoters.
RVT Statement:
Following the Government’s guidelines on venues reopening we can now confirm more details of how The RVT will operate from Saturday 4th July.
We will open at the times below and will endeavour to follow guidelines for the safety of our customers and staff. We will operate a table service only, drinks will not be sold at the bar. PPE will be offered to and supplied for staff, plus masks will be available if customers require them. All tables and chairs inside and outside will be set up so everyone sits one metre apart. The venue including toilets will be cleaned regularly with staff making sure tables are kept clean. There will be hand sanitizer available all around the venue and people will be encouraged to use this upon entry and exit. Customers will be asked if they wish to register upon entry.
