The Common Counter at Glass House is closing, 26 Feb.

Glass House is a relatively new LGBTQIA+ multidisciplinary venue based in the heart of East London. Featuring an intersectional bookshop and café (Common Press), a queer bar (Common Counter), two podcast studios, and a large events space (The Commons), they aimed to be a hub for a diverse range of communities, creatives, and projects.

Unfortunately, the space known as Common Counter is closing, but the other two out of three spaces, Commons Press and The Commons, at Glass House remain open. They’ll be closing Common Counter on the 26th of February. The venue sited the pressure on hospitality, meaning that this part of the site isn’t viable, as the reason for the closure. However, they’d like to keep as many things going as possible, and they’re exploring options for serving alcoholic drinks elsewhere on site.

Furthermore, they’ll no longer be using the name Glass House – instead, the whole site will be known as The Common Press.

To be clear, The bookshop (The Common Press) and their event space downstairs (The Commons) will remain open, and they hope you’ll continue to come and enjoy them.
