West London Queer Project returns

West London Queer Project returns

West London Queer Project (WLQP) returns to The George IV after their extended Christmas break.

With so few queer spaces in West London, QX is overjoyed to see the return of West London Queer Project. WLQP is dedicated to creating safe LGBTQ+ spaces in West London. Billed as a Sunday social, WLQP is the place to hang out with your friends, be entertained and have a good laugh. It’s a chance to make some new friends in your area, so give this project your support. We do appreciate local as not having to travel seems a blessing these days!

Today: Crystal Lubrikunt and Cherry Liquor. Get ready and prepare yourselves for a night full of drag, lip-sync extravaganza and live vocal camp hilarity. Crystal and Cherry combine forces and take the word camp to the next level! It’s one night only where the traditional, old school drag collides with current, westernised fabulousness. The pair invite you to have a night of laughter as you cry and cheer along. They’ll take you away to a place full of glitter, outrageous comedy and a whole lotta love! 7pm. £7.

When I first came to live in West London there used to be gay bars (that’s what we called them back then) dotted all over place, from Earls Court right through to Kingston. We had at least 15 different places to choose from.

But sadly, over the years these venues have mostly closed down leaving the local LGBTQ+ community nowhere to meet, socialise and feel safe. My aim is to fill that void with social and professional events, outdoor activities and all and anything that can bring the community together – Aubrey Crawley (Promoter of WLQP)
