Winter warmers at The Two Brewers, Feb. 2022

Winter warmers at The Two Brewers, Feb. 2022

Clapham LGBTQ+ village just wouldn’t be Clapham without the gay Brewers. Not only is it at the centre of the Clapham ‘scene’, but it’s a major stop on the queer cabaret circuit. Entertainment ranks highly at this venue and with two events spaces on offer there’s plenty of opportunity for variety.

Front bar at the Two Brewers.

You can check out the regular cabaret shows in the front bar by checking out our listings for any night of the week, whether it’s a gloomy Monday or an upbeat Friday. Get in to the front bar early enough and you can watch many of the shows for free! Regular shows include Mrs Moore on a Monday, Karaoke on a Tuesday, Quiz on a Wednesday, with most of the circuit making an appearance on one of the Thursday, Friday or Saturday drag nights.

Backroom at the Two Brewers

The Brewers has a backroom club that plays host to the not so regular shows that are ticketed. Prices range between about £5 and £15 and are available from various ticketing agencies. Or you can chance it on the door.

QX looks at what’s on offer in the Wintery days ahead in The Two Brewer’s backroom.

Belski and Guests: Lesbian Cabaret Show, Thursday 3 February

Kate Smurthwaite: The Last Mayor of Fihalhoho, Friday 4 February

Gangsters, attempted murder and actual sharks. Kate Smurthwaite brings you the most mind-blowing lockdown story you’ll ever hear. A lockdown saga in the great tradition of a gripping storyteller.

Disney Snatch Game, Thursday 10 February

It’s everyone’s favourite maxi-challenge from everyone’s favourite TV reality drag competition sensation: SNATCH GAME. Featuring a magical array of parodied LGBT Disney characters and putting the queer into Disney because they forgot to! There will also be an exclusive auction raising funds for HIV charity Wandsworth Oasis. Judges on the night are Thalia and David Paisley.

Flat & The Curves: The Valentine’s Special, Friday 11 February

The fabulous Flat & The Curves are getting out their little black books and sharing their dating do’s and don’ts, in this evening about sex scandal and sisterhood. A night of belly laughs and ballads. This is a perfect anti-valentines event.

CLAASH, Thursday 17 February

Ever wondered how your favourite popstars would have sounded in the ’80s? Ariana in legwarmers and a scrunchie? Britney rocking a tight perm and high cut leotard? Gaga on a bad green screen singing to Beyonce about pagers? London’s newest club night brings you all this and more, as they take all of this decade’s best songs and slot them into the best ’80s beats, as well as giving some classic ’80s tunes the modern day treatment. With live performances from leading ’80s tributes Andrew Le Breton and Allan Rose, and DJ Demon on the decks. Dress in 80’s style refinery.

The Bleeding Obvious, Wednesday 23 February

The Bleeding Obvious has one single member: Yorkshire lass Jessica Rowbottom, whose multi-genre songs are sometimes funny, occasionally poignant, frequently emotional, and invariably involve her experiences on the LGBTQ+ spectrum. Now she’s back with new songs and stories for a 2022 Spring Tour, because obviously – life is never quite as straight as it seems.

Check out the Two Brewers for more info…

… and the QX listings for what’s on across LGBTQ+ London!
