LADIDA is a new queer club night that will be having its first night on 20 June 2026 at Metropolis Club in Bethnal Green, East London. We spoke to club promoter Jonathan to find out about what to expect on the night.
Hi Jonathan. When did you first journey into clubland?
I love dancing, so it doesn’t matter if it’s West End fancy clubbing, East London grimy raves or any gay bar, North or South and in between, I’ve done it! LADIDA, I hope, will help fill in that gap in the middle for people who just love good, well-curated bangers with vocals and melodies and wanna have a proper boogie.
What is the music policy at your new night, LADIDA?
We love vocals, we love melodies, we love rhythms, we love bangers of various tempos as long as they make you want to move! So naturally we play a mix of Pop, RnB, Hip Hop, Dance and Reggaeton. We’re not interested in playing the biggest hits of an artist, but often the second single or the overlooked song that those who know know! For example, you’re never gonna hear Crazy in Love, Umbrella or Into You, but we might give you Heated, Sex With Me and Nasty. Obviously, you want enough recognisable bangers, but I want to mix in songs that would make someone whip out their Shazam.
LADIDA is at Metropolis in Bethnal Green. What´s the venue like?
Metropolis is a four-floor strip club, and we have the whole basement for ourselves! Fitted with both strip pole podiums as well as some seating. It’s got a really cool dirty disco vibe going on, and I had some of the best nights ever coming here for Dollar Baby and Savage nights. I want to bring the gays back to Metropolis!
What kind of vibe are you hoping to create?
My dream comment would be to hear someone say, “It was straight bangers, and I have never heard some of those songs out”. Definitely hoping people don’t stop wanting to dance. Friendly, fun, well-curated singing or rapping bangers.
Is there anything else that you’re being kept busy with?
Psychotherapist by day, club promoter by night.
