BEYOND INTERNATIONAL

From sailing the seas on the La Demence cruise to parties in Paris via Sao Paulo or Madrid, Sunday morning afterhours session Beyond has garnered itself a global reputation. As the club prepares to add the world-famous Space Ibiza to its roll call, some of its resident DJs share their favourite Beyond international memories…

The Beyond World Tour has been a massive success so far, and it’s been amazing to be a part of it! It’s been great playing in European cities like Rome and Paris, but the best experience so far was Beyond at The Week* Sao Paulo. The club is very impressive, the crowd has a fantastic energy and buzz, not to mention all those hot Brazilian bodies.

And the reaction to the Beyond sound was incredible – it really is the biggest rush when a club of 5,000 people erupts at the sound of a signature Beyond tune. It’s not often we travel to a club that can rival the lighting and laser effects that Londoners are used to at Beyond, but The Week* SP is one of the few. Beyond will be back there again soon… and I can’t wait!

Taking Beyond to The Week* in Sao Paulo was an incredible, daunting and also very eye opening experience (and believe me my eyes were WIDE open…) It was pretty full on from the moment we walked in the back entrance straight into the dancers ‘parlour’ where several Brazilian gogos were getting their hair cut and styled ready for the night… I won’t forget that in a hurry!

The Week is an amazing venue and you can clearly see they spend a lot of time, money and energy ensuring that the place is in top condition and running smoothly, everything from the sound system to the light shows and dancers runs like clockwork.

I was so pleased at how well received Beyond was, the music went down a treat – really hope we can get back there on a regular basis!

When I was told I was booked to play and represent Beyond together with Alan K at the official closing Madrid Pride Party presented by WE at La Riviera, I couldn’t stop myself from doing high kicks around my lounge all day. It turned out to be a dream come true! I think it was one of the most humbling DJing experiences I have ever had.

It was an amazing experience from start to end, and no words can describe how good that party was. It was pretty overwhelming looking out at 6,000 people and to top it all up, every few minutes there would be a familiar face from London and Beyond regulars coming up to wave and say ‘hi’, which really helped me feeling like I was at home and away at the same time.

The crowd was so up for it, so responsive and it was a great mixture of people that was simply there to have a good time – I felt very connected with them and that they were listening. Beyond keeps going from strength to strength in London and now abroad, and I’m so happy to be a part of it.

My favorite moment on the Beyond world tour so far was when Jonny M and me absolutely smashed it at The Beyond White Party on the La Demence cruise! We played until 7am in the morning, as the sun rose over the top deck of the ship in the middle of the Mediterranean sea in the Greek islands… it was stunning!

I’m really looking forward to playing on the main floor Cafe Ole at Space with Boy George on the 20th August!

Beyond Midnight vs Café Ole is at Area (68 Albert Embankment, Vauxhall, SE1 7TP) this Saturday 6th August, midnight-midday.
