Are you Miss Fit?

Misfits returns with another massive Monster Ball to kick off the Halloween season. Turn up in your best distress and turn it out to win the prize of the ultimate mash-up and walk away as Mizz Misfits Halloween Hell-Raiser 2014. Here’s promoter Mark-Ashley Dupé’s guide to causing chaos…

Anybody that knows me will know that any event is an opportunity to channel that inner goddess that lives within (and out if you catch me at the right part of the weekend), so Hallow’s Eve is an opportunity I never let pass by without a costume that slays!

1. Go Tranny

It’s the one night a year that even the butchest of men can get away with wearing a dress (for Oozing Gloop, that’s every day). So even if you look less convincing than Matthew Kenny, it doesn’t matter girl, it’s all part of the get-up, However, “Femme Realness” won’t win you that competition money honey, if you’re going to drag up, make sure you look like you’ve just been dragged out of hell or Beyond on a Sunday afternoon!

2. Less is Best

Male or female, if you have the body, especially the legs, let it all out! You are guaranteed to turn heads whilst tipping through Old Street in your six inch stiletto heels thinking you’re Mariah Carey sipping on that bottle of rosé you couldn’t finish on the bus! Look to Anthony Gilét’s costume at Hotwired this year for inspiration!

However…

3. Gore Is More

Halloween isn’t just about being slutty like those ratchet Mean Girls think – AS IF! That’s child’s play – the best outfits are as gory as they are whorish. You want every man to be confused as to why he’s quivering but still has a boner he wants to slay you with (and I’m not talking Buffy)

4. Make Up Makes It!

Forget the outfit, you could throw on a trash bag (or nothing if you already are one) it’s the make up that seals the deal! If you’re on a budget – spend twice as much on face paint, fake blood and skin! Don’t get me wrong, the primary ensemble is most probably scary enough, but a bullet hole in the head pushes it over the edge!

5. You aren’t what you eat

Coming as any type of fried food is just not cool and certainly not scary (well unless your Mary Kate & Ashley), and just shows a severe lack of imagination! It didn’t work for Gwen Stefani it certainly ain’t gonna work for you babes!

So London… Start your engines and let the best Monster WIN!

Misfits Monster Ball is at East Bloc (217-219 City Road, EC1V 1JN) on Wednesday 29th October, 10pm-3.30am.
